Dr. Susan Miranda is the Visiting Assistant Professor of Oboe at Oklahoma State University. In addition to teaching at the college level, her interest in education and outreach spans all ages. This is represented in her many educational outreach projects with chamber ensembles Larkspur Reed Trio, BS Project, and Dúo León. Her strengths are many, including business owner, writer, and new music pioneer.
Miranda’s performing career focuses on the development and commission of new music. Recent premieres include Across by Theresa Martin at the 2022 International Double Reed Society Conference (IDRS); Colors by Virginia Samuel at the 2022 Biennial North American Saxophone Alliance Conference; works by Jonathan Posthuma and Gary Powell Nash at the 2023 IDRS in Salaya, Thailand; music by Snow Kim and Posthuma at the 2024 IDRS with Reed5 and Larkspur Reed Trio, and a trio by Nancy Williams at the International Clarinet Association Conference in Dublin, Ireland.
