American violinist Suliman Tekalli, Concertmaster of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, is a dynamic artist known for his versatility as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral leader. A top prizewinner at the 2015 Seoul International Music Competition, he has performed with major orchestras across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, and at venues such as Wigmore Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Seoul Arts Center. His performances have aired on NPR, CBC, and KBS.
An avid chamber musician, he has appeared at Music@Menlo, Yellow Barn, and Banff, collaborating with artists like Gil Shaham and Wu Han. He tours globally with Sybarite5 and the Tekalli Duo, and has served as concertmaster for ensembles including Orpheus Chamber Orchestra.
Also a composer and educator, Tekalli’s work is featured on the MSR Classics label. He studied at Juilliard, CIM, and Yale with mentors including Hyo Kang and Joel Smirnoff.
