Sitting somewhere between up-tempo dance music, post-funk, storytelling, creative improvisation, and performance art, slapslap is a Michigan-based band that provides a striking and unmistakable musical-theatrical experience. slapslap serves their signature style of performance-art bassoon-rock in a variety of venues: from summer festivals, underground bars, comedy clubs, concert auditoriums, schools, family events, and house shows. A slapslap show is sure to leave audiences enthralled, astonished, and of course, slap-happy!
The band released their debut EP “slapslEP” in 2020, and followed that up in 2022 with the release of “Bad Idea, Good Execution.” In addition to their performing work, slapslap’s educational program slap.edu brings the band into school to work with students from Pre-K to college-age in workshops, masterclasses, and interactive performances.
slapslap consists of electric bassoonists Ezra Gans and Maddy Wildman and percussionists Cameron Wilson and Tanner Tanyer.
