Cellist Romina Monsanto, originally from Venezuela, is a versatile performer and educator with experience in a variety of musical styles. She serves as an Assistant Professor of Cello at the University of Northern Colorado and has held roles such as principal cellist of the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra in Brazil.
Dr. Monsanto has taught at various music festivals, including the 17th Encontro de Violoncelos in Brazil and the Festival de la Musica Orquestal in Mexico, and has been a facutly member at the Point CounterPoint chamber music camp in Vermont for five years.
A passionate advocate for contemporary music, she co-founded the oboe and cello duo New Duobus, performing new works and collaborating with various composers. She has participated in album recordings and contributed sound effects to films, showcasing her diverse skills in both performance and education.
