Kim Laskowski

Kim Laskowski, a Brooklyn native, studied at the High School of Music and Art and The Juilliard School, where she earned a master’s and received the Walter and Elsie Naumburg Award. She also studied in Paris on a Fulbright grant at the Conservatoire National Supérieure under Maurice Allard. Laskowski has performed at Tanglewood, Spoleto, and with numerous ensembles including the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and American Symphony Orchestra. In 2003, she joined the New York Philharmonic as Associate Principal Bassoon, retiring in 2023 after 20 years. She previously played with the New York City Ballet and Mostly Mozart Festival orchestras. A versatile musician, she appears on film scores and platinum records with 10,000 Maniacs, and records chamber music with Music Amici. Laskowski has taught and performed internationally and serves on the faculties of Juilliard and the Manhattan School of Music. She divides her time between Manhattan and Patmos, Greece.
