Described by the Herald Times as “a hulk … with robust voice and a flair for comedy,” baritone Jeremiah Sanders recently performed Marcello in La bohème with Minnesota Opera and Papa Jay in Minnesota Opera’s New Work Initiative. Sanders grew up singing in church choir with his madea (great-grandmother) and went on to study voice at Manchester University, Butler University, and Indiana University. An avid recitalist, he enjoys interpreting the works of Romantic, 20th-century, and contemporary composers and is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in Voice at the University of Iowa.
