Graham Waterhouse (*1962) is a composer and cellist, born in London and based near Munich, Germany. He studied at Highgate School, Cambridge University, and the conservatories in Essen and Cologne. His diverse body of work includes four string quartets, a string sextet, wind quintet, solo works for unique instruments (e.g., highland bagpipe, alphorn, contrabassoon), three cantatas, song cycles, and chamber concertos. He has performed his own Cello Concerto in Switzerland, Germany, the UK, and Mexico.
Waterhouse is Composer in Residence at the National Chamber Music Course in Oxfordshire and at courses in Germany and France. His music has been recorded by the English Chamber Orchestra (Meridian) and released by Cybele and Farao. In 2018, he earned a PhD in Composition from Birmingham City University and won the Durtal Festival Composition Prize in 2023. He sees composing and performing as interconnected, with his creative work published by Schott Music.
