Dr. Heather Killmeyer serves as Associate Professor of Double Reeds at East Tennessee State University. Heather received her degrees from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (BM), the University of Nevada Las Vegas (MM) and the University of Southern California (DMA). Her primary teachers were Mark Ostoich, Stephen Caplan, Allan Vogel, and Brenda Schuman-Post.
An active performer, Heather has explored her skills in a wide range of orchestral, chamber, and solo repertoire. She has performed with a number of orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Antonio Symphony, Corpus Christi Symphony, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Reno Philharmonic, and the Knoxville Symphony. Heather is principal oboist of the Johnson City Symphony and performs in the ETSU faculty woodwind ensemble Classical Appalachia. An advocate for contemporary music, she has participated in numerous commissions and premieres of new works for oboe.
Dr. Roya Farzaneh leads a versatile career as a solo, chamber, and orchestral musician. She serves as principal flutist with the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra, second flute with Symphony of the Mountains, and acting second flute/piccolo of the Brevard Philharmonic. She frequently performed with many regional orchestras including the Rock Hill Symphony, Long Bay Symphony, Aiken Symphony, South Carolina Philharmonic, and has previously served as second flute with the Guelph Symphony Orchestra in Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Farzaneh’s artistic accomplishments have earned her recognition as a prize winner or finalist in numerous renowned solo flute competitions, including the Raleigh Area Flute Society, the Texas Flute Society’s Myrna Brown Artist Competition, the Central Ohio Flute Association, the South Carolina Flute Society, the Flute Society of Kentucky, the Northeast Ohio Tuesday Musical Association, and the National Flute Association.


Clarinetist Lisa Perry joined the faculty at East Tennessee State University in fall 2018 and currently serves as Assistant Professor of Clarinet. Dr. Perry has appeared with the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, North Carolina Master Chorale, Symphony of the Mountains, Johnson City Symphony Orchestra, Taneycomo Festival Orchestra, and has recorded for Minnesota Public Radio (MPR).
As a member of the International Clarinet Association, Dr. Perry has written for The Clarinet Journal and performed at the 2012 ClarinetFest in Lincoln, Nebraska, the 2019 ClarinetFest in Knoxville, TN, the 2021 Virtual ClarinetFest, and the 2022 ClarinetFest in Reno, Nevada. An advocate for new music, Dr. Perry is actively engaged in the commissioning and performance of new works for the clarinet, most recently commissioning Smokey Mountain Lullaby (2022) for clarinet ensemble by Roger Zare.
