Cian Bryson is a bassoonist from Toronto currently completing his Bachelor of Music at the University of Toronto studying under Eric Hall, and recently returned from studying at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, studying with Jaakko Luoma as an exchange student during the 24/25 academic year. He started playing bassoon in 2014, and since then has won numerous scholarships and awards. Cian has performed as soloist with the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, and has worked as a substitute bassoonist with the Finnish Radio Symphony, Tampere Philharmonic, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, among others, working under conductors such as Gustavo Gimeno, Sakari Oramo, and Cristian Măcelaru. He has performed in masterclasses for renowned musicians including Sophie Dervaux and Carlo Colombo, and has attended Interlochen, Round Top Festival Institute, and Domaine Forget. Cian will also be attending Music Academy of the West and the Lucerne Festival Academy this summer.
