ACCOMMODATIONS and DINING
On-Campus Housing
Guests can choose to stay on campus in Fairview House, a state-of-the-art residence hall directly across from the concert halls. Note that Fairview house is a suite-style residence hall. A suite (sometimes referred to as a “pod”) houses groups of 6 or 8 guests in double bedrooms or 3-4 guests in single rooms. Guests share a bathroom with 1-3 other people and all suites have a shared common space and kitchenette. Fairview House features include:
- Welcome Desk and Entry Lounge with Office for Residence Life staff
- Recreation and Gaming Lounge with balcony overlooking courtyard
- Media Lounge and Social Space with video display walls and fireside casual seating
- Business Center with print stations and private study space
- Cardio Fitness Room with modern equipment and workout/yoga space
- Laundry Centers on three floors
Guests can book accommodations in Fairview House using the conference registration form.
Single bedrooms are $100 per night. Shared bedrooms (two people) are $65 per night per person. There is a one-time charge of $35 per person for a linen set. Remember that all bedrooms are part of a suite and guests in that suite will share bathrooms, a living space, and a kitchenette.
On-campus housing must be booked by May 15. It will not be possible to fulfill requests for on-campus housing made after that date.
Guests staying at Fairview House will have the opportunity to purchase meals in the on-campus dining facility and will receive a card allowing them to park in Butler’s parking garage with in-and-out privileges throughout their stay.

Off-Campus Housing
The official conference hotel is the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis.
**Rooms at the Hyatt are filling up fast. We may be able to reserve more if needed, but that’s not guaranteed yet. If you have any problems with room availability, please email idrs2025@butler.edu and we’ll try our best to help. Please include as much detail as you can (number of rooms/people, nights, etc.).
The Hyatt Regency Indianapolis is located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. A block of rooms has been reserved at a special rate (roughly a 40% discount) for IDRS2025 attendees. This rate is available only until May 12.
The Hyatt Regency features a large lobby area with restaurants and bar and other areas where IDRS guests can gather and mingle. Note that a shuttle will run between the Hyatt Regency and the Butler University campus throughout the conference.

Other Hotel Options
There are also smaller blocks of rooms reserved at discounted rates at two nearby hotels. Both of these hotels are at the same intersection as the Hyatt Regency. Note that the conference shuttle bus will pick up at the Hyatt Regency only.
Embassy Suites by Hilton Indianapolis Downtown
Guests staying off-campus will have the opportunity to purchase meals in the on-campus dining facility and will be able to park for a fee in the parking garage adjacent to the conference facilities. See https://www.butler.edu/campus-services/parking/ for details.
Meals and Dining
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served on Tuesday June 10 through Saturday June 14 in Midtown Provisions, one of the on-campus dining facilities, close to Fairview House and other conference buildings. **Midtown Provisions will not be open on Monday June 9 nor Sunday June 15.**
Hours and Prices (all you can eat):
Breakfast: 7:00 – 9:00 am, $10
Lunch: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, $10
Dinner: 5:00 – 7:00 pm, $12
We recommend purchasing meal vouchers in advance using the conference Registration Form: Purchasing meal vouchers in advance using this form will save you time versus paying for meals at the door. It will also make the meal-time lines shorter for all conference attendees and help the food providers estimate and plan better. You will receive paper meal vouchers when you check-in for the conference; vouchers are flexible and transferable. (In other words, you can use them on any day or give them to someone else.)
Do I need to purchase vouchers in advance? No, you can pay for meals with a credit card at the door, but this will take a little more time and slow down the lines.
What are my other options for on-campus dining? There are a few other options on-campus:
Butler Brew is a coffeeshop right next to the IDRS exhibits in Dugan Hall. It’s sure to be a popular place for conference attendees to grab a drink, snack, or light meal! Butler Brew features local Julian Roasters coffee and local Illinois Street Food Emporium pastries. They also have paninis and grab-and-go sandwiches and salads.
Starbucks is in Atherton Union, just a short walk from other conference buildings.
Chatham Tap is located very close to the conference buildings on the ground floor of the parking garage structure. They have “the friendly and laid back tradition of a neighborhood pub, ” and seek “to rise above the ‘pub-grub’ level with our menu.” Chatham Tap also has a large patio, which is great when the weather is nice.
What are my options for off-campus dining? Indy is an awesome foodie town with a ton of great restaurants! However, none are super close to Butler, and only a few are within a mile of campus. There are lots that are a five- to ten-minute drive away, especially in the Broad Ripple neighborhood. See here for more info: https://www.visitindy.com/restaurants/
