A native of Japan, composer, pianist and teacher Miho Sasaki has collaborated with orchestras, universities and contemporary music festivals across the US, South America and Asia. Sasaki was awarded a Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship from the Arts Council of Indianapolis and selected for MTNA/IMTA commissioned composer 2024. Her newly commissioned work, Nishiki for oboe, bassoon and piano, was premiered at 2024 IDRS Gala Concert in Flagstaff, AZ by Butler University woodwind and piano faculty. She has recently performed Stravinsky’s Concerto for Piano and Wind Instruments with the Butler Wind Ensemble, Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire, toured China as soloist in Michael Schelle’s Wright Flight piano concerto, and Philip Glass’ Piano Concerto No. 3.
