Peter Opie serves as associate professor of cello at Ball State University. He has an extensive performance career as a soloist and chamber musician, spanning Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States. He has led masterclasses at various universities and conservatories worldwide, with his students achieving success in competitions and performances with prominent orchestras. In addition to his solo and chamber work, he has collaborated with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and served as acting principal cello for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. He earned his degrees from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the University of Michigan.
