Lorraine Duso Kitts is Professor of Double Reeds at the University of Central Arkansas and has taught at UCA and Hendrix College for over 20 years. She performs as Second Oboe with the Arkansas Symphony and Principal Oboe with the Conway Symphony. Her orchestral work includes performances with the Knoxville Symphony and orchestras in Mexico. As a soloist, she has appeared with ensembles such as the Arkansas Symphony’s River Rhapsodies series, the Conway and Pine Bluff Symphonies, the Little Rock Wind Symphony, and the Fuzhou Philharmonic in China. In 2019, she founded The Topaz Trio (oboe, saxophone, piano), which explores the blend of oboe and saxophone timbres. The ensemble has performed at international and national events, including the International Double Reed Society (IDRS), NACWPI, and NASA. Most recently, they appeared at the 2023 World Saxophone Congress in the Canary Islands, Spain.
