Mark Lauer

Mark Lauer is the principal bassoonist of the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra and second bassoon with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra (GA). He is the bassoon faculty at the University of Missouri- St. Louis and Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. Mark has performed with the Kansas City Symphony, the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, the Orlando Philharmonic, Atlanta Pops Orchestra, Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, Panama City Symphony Orchestra (FL), Tallahassee Symphony, Valdosta Symphony (GA), Augusta Symphony (GA), Ocala Symphony (FL), Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, Arkansas Philharmonic, and the Missouri Symphony Orchestra.


A native of Jefferson City, Missouri, Mark received the Bachelor of Music and Performers Certificate from the University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory. He earned his Master of Music degree at The Florida State University College of Music (FSU).


Mark’s teachers include: Jeff Keesecker, Marita Abner, and Dr. Steven Houser.
